Feature

appliance image

The appliance image is an SD card image for a small board that boots straight into the headless node.

Runs on:

  • Raspberry Pi / ARM64 Linux SoC (headless audio node) (partial)

The appliance image is a whole system for one board, built with Buildroot: a Linux kernel, the headless node and the services that set it up, and nothing else. Write it to a card, put the card in the board, and power it on.

There is no shell step. A file called noise-machine.conf on the card's FAT partition gives the board its Wi-Fi network and its name before first boot. The same file is how several boards get set up from a script.
