Koda

Koda is the language a patch is written in; the same text runs on desktop, in a plugin, in the browser and on the headless node.

Not every patch compiles for the browser yet, and microcontrollers are out of reach; the language is still changing, so a patch written today may need edits later.

FeatureKoda

audio output

A patch plays through your sound card on desktop, through the host inside a VST3 plugin, and through ALSA on the headless node.

Tested on macOS, Linux desktop, the VST3 plugin and the headless node; Windows, iOS and Android builds have not been checked yet, and the browser uses its own path.

Featureaudio output

web audio library

Put a Koda patch inside your own web page: the library runs it in the tab, and your page's own controls play it.

Some patches do not compile for the browser yet, and the hosting page needs cross-origin isolation headers to play. The library draws no KodaX, so a notebook's prose and faceplates need the full app.

Featureweb audio library

Precompiled
Zero-latency standard library, already native before you opened the app.
JIT
Native speed, millisecond compiles, hot reload on save.
WASM
Near-native in the browser. Same engine, no install.
Bytecode VM
The fallback for iOS and anywhere a JIT is not allowed.
